Dear Happy M5 Hosting Customers,

This time there's a little something for shared hosting customers
and for colocation and monitoring customers;

Colocation and Monitoring Customers:
This evening (Sunday 8/22/04) we moved the monitoring function to
a different server. In the course of making this move, a few false alerts
were sent out from the new monitoring server, during testing. For those
that may have received an alert via pager or e-mail that your server was
down, followed by an alert saying it came back up, please disregard those
alerts. Nothing actually went down during the move. Your systems were
monitored at all times during the move. While the old system is no longer
monitoring, it will be left in place as a backup for a week or more.
As part of the move, the address of the monitoring server has
changed. The new address is https://support.m5hosting.com/nagios This is
where you can log in to see and use the Nagios web-based interface. Your
user name and password are the same. Alert messages will originate from
nagios at porter.m5hosting.com instead of nagios at ipa.m5hosting.com

Shared Hosting Customers:
There have been no detected network outages since the installation
of the new firewall, more than 60 days ago. The primary hosting server,
secondary DNS, IDS system, and statistics systems have each been up
continuously for greater than 120 days without incident.
Don't forget, if you have any support issues, please send us an
e-mail at support[at]m5hosting.com*** Using this address allows us to
track issues, develop FAQ's, determine how long it's taken to answer help
requests and generally improve service. The web interface for the support
system is located at https://support.m5hosting.com This may also be the
fastest way to get support. Once a ticket is created either by sending
support an e-mail, or by using the web-based system, e-mail and pager
alerts are sent out and your request can be handled by the first support
person to respond.

*** The e-mail address has been obscured to prevent spam, please use the
real "@" symbol in the e-mail address.

Thanks for your trust and your business !
Mike
