Dear Happy M5 Hosting Customer,
As part of our infrastructure improvement project, we will
be upgrading one of our name servers. The upgrade will consist of a
replacement of the hardware to a more fault-tolerant system, and a
move to a newer version of the operating system and DNS software. The
current system has been up for over 281 days.
The new system has already been configured and this
maintenance will simply be to give the new system the address of the
old system and remove the old system. It is expected that this will
take less than 15 minutes. Most likely it will take less than 5
minutes. During this cut-over time, reverse DNS resolution of your IP
address may fail or become intermittent. Forward resolution of your
domains will only be affected if your domain master DNS server is not
functioning and we are your secondary/slave name server.
Who: Dedicated Server and colocation customers with IP
addresses in the following networks; 209.216.230.0/24,
206.251.255.0/24, and 207.158.15.0/24 Shared hosting customers should
not be affected in any way.
What: Possible temporary intermittent name resolution failures.
When: Maintenance to begin on Saturday Dec. 2, 2006 at
8:00pm PST (Sunday Dec. 3, 2006 at 4:00am UTC/GMT/ZULU)
Duration: 5 to 15 minutes
If you have any questions or comments relating to this
maintenance or this email, please feel free to send us an email. We
want to hear from you.
Thanks,
Mike
