Dear Happy M5Hosting Customer,
In an effort to maintain a high quality service for our customers, we
will step up enforcement of our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), especially
with regard to spam. We will begin this increase in enforcement
immediately to bring benefits to the majority of our customers
immediately.
Below I have provided a brief, plain language, summary of the M5Hosting
Acceptable Use Policy. A more detailed and lengthy update to this policy
will be published to our web site shortly.
1) Nothing illegal within the United States.
Our servers are located withing the USA, anything does with them must
comply with the laws here.
2) No spamming.
You may not knowingly allow, enable or intentionally use your server to
send, generate or proxy unsolicited email, UCE, UBE, spam, etc. While
definitions of spam may range, generally if you are sending email
messages to recipients who have not specifically asked for the messages
or are not current paying customers of yours, you are definitely sending
spam. The determination if mail is spam or not is entirely at the
discretion of M5Hosting Security and Abuse.
3) Do not negatively affect the services for our other customers.
You may not cause a Denial of Service attack. You may not use your
server in a way that will cause any IP addresses to be banned, blocked,
or listed on "black lists". You may not use your server in such a way as
to prevent use of common resources such as DNS servers, network
bandwidth, firewall states or other similar resources by our other
customers, or to reduce the performance or availability of these
resources.
If a customer violates the spirit or letter of this AUP, M5Hosting may
take action up to and including suspension or termination of the
services. The final month of service for accounts which are terminated
for AUP violations may not be prorated or refunded. No actions will be
taken without clear warning and an opportunity for the customer to make
immediate corrections.
The purpose of the Acceptable Use Policy is to ensure that all of our
customers can use their servers and our network reliably and
successfully for their business, project or organization.
I you have any questions or comments regarding this policy or this
email, please let us know by sending an email message to
support at m5hosting.com
Thanks,
Mike
